Sunset Lobster and Steak Cruise : On the last night of our honeymoon Laura and I took a sunset cruise around the sea on a catamaran. Once the sunset we were treated to a five course meal which included a wonderful surf and turf. The meal was followed by a few romantic dances on the beach (and a drunk Indian fellow). We made friends with Chris and Aussie from Indiana but never exchanged contact info with them..

The Mayan Ruins (Tulum, Solidaridad, Quintana Roo, Mexico) : On 06/17/2009 Laura and I took a cab ride to the Mayan ruins in Tulum Mexico. The weather was horrible (pouring rain) but we made the best of it and had a great time. Laura built a fort out of trees which provided shelter during the worst rain - once it cleared up we were able to get some great shots.

Akumal, Mexico : Laura and I took a day trip to Akumal Bay which in Mayan means "place of the turtles". Akumal is located about 60 miles south of Cancun and between Playa De Carmen and Tulum. It was about 15 miles from our hotel and a 20 minute cab ride. The cab fare was more expensive on the way back, which was weird. We rented snorkel gear, fins, and beach chairs (50 pesos for chairs, $12 USD for snorkel and fins). The beach was beautiful and HOT. The Corona ads are shot at this beach, and you could tell. Laura had a rough time with the fins, but after a few minutes we snorkeled together and saw lots of fish and a few sea turtles. The turtles were really cool - they just kinda floated around, ate and came to the top for air. They didn't seem to mind us... We also stopped in a few local shops - but didn't purchase anything (some of the Mexican art nick-nacks are a little scary)!
